If you search the world watch auctions for authentic world war II Luftwaffe pilot watch from Laco you will find them for around $5000-7000, today Laco employed a technique by casemakers of Pforzheim, Germany, capital of German case and band manufacturers, that make a traditional modern watch look like it was worn by a pilot and set around, maybe even buried in the ground, for over 75 years. There are 3 levels of severity of "natural damage" that Laco offers, this watch is a level 2. Heirloom pilot 55mm model "Replika" with aged black "Type B" aviation style dial on brown aviator style leather strap, manual wind Swiss made and Laco modified movement.

Movement:

18 jewels. Laco 97 - Based on the Swiss ETA 6497.1 (Elaboré).

Movement Features:

Hand enhanced Cotes de Geneve burnished plates. Fire blued screws. Hacking center second hand, Incabloc shock protection, Glucydur screw balance, swan neck fine adjustment, and an engraved serial number.

Case:

Solid Stainless steel. Aged finish.

Crown:

Oversized style.

Crystal:

Anti-Glare treated. Sapphire. Very slight dome profile.

Dial:

Black color. Luminous ( radiation-free Super-LumiNova ) numerals. Flieger (aviation) style B dial with large minute numbers in increments of 5 along the edge and hour division of 1 to 12 in center - the easiest telling time markings. Aged finish "B" style.

Hands:

Blued color. Super-LumiNova radiation-free luminous filled. Aged look.
