Just after the turn of the century, in 1904, the Oris watch factory is founded by Paul Cattin and Georges Christian at Hölstein, Switzerland.
In 1938 the legendary pointer calendar enters production, marking a milestone in the history of Oris. Since then, the pointer calendar has always been included in the Oris collection. In 1997 Oris presents the Worldtimer with Oris movement 690. The world`s first watch to feature two analogue time displays incorporates push-button time adjustment. In the same year a limited series of 250 Jules Verne solid-gold watches is launched, fitted with the Worldtimer Chronometer movement. This launches a great tradition of yearly Limited Edition watch that represents "cream de la cream" of the world famous watchmaker. Oris dedicates models to the great Jazz artists and recently became associated with a Formula race circuit. Oris watches are large and robust, yet cases are very ergonomically perfect for the size, thus making it a very comfortable on any wrist.
